Mobile Car Detailing in Orewa
I am Myles, and I run Groomsmen Auto Detailing out of Stanmore Bay, a short drive from Orewa. When you book a detail here you are getting someone local, who drives the same roads and parks on the same coast, not a franchise van sent up from the city.
Orewa is one of the easiest runs I do, and I am not sitting in motorway traffic to get here, so I can usually be with you a lot sooner.
Why Orewa cars need more than a wash
Orewa Beach is one of my family’s favourite spots, whether that is dinner, a walk, a coffee, or letting our son loose in the playground, the water and the sand. I know we are not the only ones bringing a good amount of that beach home in the car.
Sand works its way into the carpet pile and down the seat rails, and once it is in there a vacuum over the top will not shift it. Salt air off the open coast is the quieter problem. It settles on the paint, sits in the trim and works on the alloys all year, not just over summer.
Then there is the driving. The Hibiscus Coast Highway and the run south to the motorway leave a film on the paint that a quick wash slides straight over without lifting. Add the yellow pollen coating that turns up in spring, which is stubborn stuff once it has sat on a panel for a week.
A proper detail deals with all of it. The sand comes out of the carpet rather than getting pushed further in, the paint is decontaminated rather than just wetted, and the hard surfaces inside get cleaned and dressed properly.

All I need from you is access to an outdoor tap and a standard power point. Nothing else. No dropping the car off, no waiting around somewhere for half a day, no queue.
Orewa is one of the quicker areas for me to fit into a week, so if you are trying to get something booked before the weekend it is worth asking.
Getting set up in an Orewa driveway
Most Orewa homes have off-street parking and an outdoor tap, so setup takes a couple of minutes and I am straight into it.
If you are in one of the apartment blocks along the beachfront, or a townhouse without a private tap or an outside power point, say so when you book and we will sort out where the car goes. There is almost always a spot that works, but it is much easier to plan it than to discover it on the morning.
Weather on this coast turns quickly. If the day is not suitable I will call you and move it, at no charge.

Usually quickly. Orewa is about ten minutes from where I am based in Stanmore Bay, so it is one of the easier areas to fit in. The online booking shows the next available times.

Yes, and I get asked it a lot out here. Dog hair works itself into fabric seats and boot carpet and will not vacuum out, it has to be lifted first. That is time rather than magic, so tell me how bad it is when you book and I will make sure the time is there.

No, and it is usually the part people have given up on. Prams, beach gear, sports bags and wet towels all end up back there and nothing ever comes out again. It cleans up. If the boot is the main reason you are booking, say so and it gets proper attention.
